About this site

Katie Sweeney was a remarkable woman who taught many of us many lessons. She had an thirst for knowledge, even through her last days with us. She explored in search of learning. What she learned and where she went were evident in her extensive library, textile and postcard collections. She touched people around the world, they remembered her, and she remembered them.... you.

While only a few of us were able to be with her during her last days here on earth, we know that so many of you were touched by her. Many have pictures and stories to share. And we want to hear... to learn...to share. We're creating this site so that as she touched us, her legacy can continue to touch others.

We will be posting our memories, pictures and stories here, and we welcome your contributions. If you have stories, pictures or other things to add to Katie's legacy blog, we invite you to either post yourself in the coments, or email your information to us with a short description of how and where you knew Katie at katiesweeneyslife@gmail.com .  If you have recommendations for this site, please let us know.

  1. Hello,
My name is Wendy and Katie used to shop with me at Chico's and before that at Jones New York and Co. We got along great and she was my "special" customer. She always took an interest in my life and my kids. Her flare for fashion and color was incredible. She would tell me about her travels and all the different things she did. I have missed her the last couple of years and when I called, no answer. I have googled her in the past and found nothing and only now have my suspicions been confirmed, that she indeed has passed away.
She was a great lady and hope she knows how many lives she touched.
